Dark Guardian in the Mist
I first thought about this “Dark Guardian in the Mist” concept after noticing heavy fog/mist a few mornings in a row. I always wanted to capture some crow shots with this dark and moody feel. First weekend I got the chance to do this I woke up at 7 AM and started waiting for the crows to appear. As a result I finished off 2 bateries with my Fujifilm X-T20, but I got some very nice shots.
I like this one the most. The cracked nut beneath the crow’s claw is the icing on the cake in this photo.
I find it fascinating how autumn can provide such contrasting photography opportunities. Believe it or not, I shot the “Dark Guardian in the Mist” and this photo 2 weeks apart. The former in October in the latter in November. Most noteworthy, I shot the guardian photo earlier than the bench photo.
Finally I had a chance to use the Fujifilm XF 50-140mm F2.8 together with the Fujinon XF2X TC teleconverter. Because of this I thought about purchasing the XF 100-400mm, but I’m still not convinced it is worth it for me.
