Joy of Being a Child

Joy of Being a Child

I know in photography people always talk about ratios, balanced compositions, colors etc. It’s true, many of the composition well established rules usually work, but when it comes to people I usually prefer candid shots.

Although this photo might suggest that he subject is posing, she really isn’t. I remeber walking out of a church after a christening and just taking photos of people all around. This little girl (I have no idea what her name is) was playing with balloons and had her back turned to me. I started taking some frames in hope that she will turn around and after about 5 seconds she did. As soon as she made contact with my camera I pressed the shutter button and that was it. Perfect framing, perfect lighting, perfect smile, perfect hair…perfect everything!

While posting this I forgot what lens I had used to capture it. To my surprise it wasn’t my regular Fujifilm XF 50-140mm F2.8, but the XF 90mm F2.
