Swimming in Gold

Most photographers are familiar with the golden hour and there are tons of photos catching the essence of blue and golden hours. This photo was taken in IOR Park, Bucharest 2018. Lake IOR has many white swans who like to pose for pictures. Most golden hour photos come in the form of a landscape emphasizing the warm color of the clouds or some water reflection, but this particular golden hour shot provides an unique perspective. Although the swan silhouette seems to be the primary subject, you soon realize that the golden water surrounding the swan is actually what draws your attention. Obviously the swan is not swimming in liquid gold, but the warm golden light hitting the water at the perfect angle creates the illusion.
